The bell tied around the chubby feets of this adorable lil character with out-stretched arms pleading for hugs, is a nice touch, IMHO - and adds to it's precociousness. About [Journey to the East] Exhibition:
The concept of the title of this exhibition, "Journey to the East ", comes from the well-known Chinese novel " Journey to the West". This exhibition is to show the unique oriental style of Chinese art, also to explore and spread the Chinese culture, in a positive, optimistic and colorful way.
The exhibition is mainly dominated by the 2 key characters, namely, "SoHa"* and "Long Jian-fei"*, which were originally created by TikKa. They represent the "love and care" concept in Chinese Confucianism, and "rightfulness" in traditional Martial Art spirit. The rest of works are also about the ancient myths in Chinese society. All works are presented by acrylic on canvas as well as sculptures.
It's the first solo exhibition of TikKa, which marks the breakpoint of his own style. The exhibition solely presents in hand drawings instead of computer graphics, and on oriental style instead of the prior western style, which is very different from his previous works. [Note: Text unedited]
