Toy-Review: Rebel Yoka by PHU! x adFunture

REBEL-YOKA-01

TOY-STORY: The "Rebel Yoka" was designed by Singapore-based toy customizer PHU! and produced by adFunture. The 2.5 inch tall figure was one of three Yokas released during New York ComicCon 2010, alongside Yokas from Motorbot and Reactor88, in a series dubbed "New Yorka". Priced at US$15 each (with regular backing card design), the figure came in a blister package, and is limited to 200 pieces worldwide.

This particular version "edition" is one of PHU!'s "Artist Proofs", for which he had created and hand-painted a separate "backdrop" / cardboard backing card that fits into the blister-shell. Shown below is a closer look at the figure itself:

I do not know if it was the intention of the designer or manufacturer, but the differing grey-tones makes the figure look "translucent" in some select areas, as if there was another darker design "underneath" the surface of the Yoka. Well done this.

As well, the fine lines and design printed by adFunture is pretty top notch here, with my copy with nary a smudge. Very well done this. For US$15, this is a sweet figure to add to any collection, IMHO.
