Toy-Review: Hexcode by Andrew Bell from Android 2 Mini Collectible by DYZ Plastic
TOY-STORY: As previously blogged, the Android Mini Collectibles Series 2 is the second series release featuring the Google Android mascot as a 3-inch tall toy as produced and released by DYZ Plastic. Each display case consists of 16 x blind boxed containing a randomly placed toy within, with HEXCODE part of the basic assortment, with a ratio of 2/16 - which essentially mean you might get two figures in a boxed-selection of 16 figures.
This box of Androids Series 2 is courtesy of The Taken Shop (The Official Distributer of Androids in Malaysia). You are able to procure the set or single boxes online via http://www.takenshop.com.
** Especially for TOYSREVIL-readers - there is a discount code for worldwide free shipping! Remember the code is "toysrevil.blogspot.com" (without the quotes). The discount code is only applicable on purchases over RM400.00 with any items available in the store.
Designed by U.S.A.-based artist Andrew Bell [Dead Zebra Inc] - Andrew is the head-honcho of DYZ Plastic, and has also contributed designs to Series One and two special edition Androids: Cai Shen and Power Vampire.
Andrew has designed a total of 4 x Androids for Series 2. HEXCODE sees a predominantly all-black Android with green highlights and hexagonal straight-up print design patterns on the surface. And while I am not a huge-honking fan of this figure, I cannot deny it's dynamic simplicity of the skin-design and chosen colors. Heck, the black base is perfect for what I have in mind for a "custom-toy", so having a "spare" figure out of the box, is a boon!
