TOY-STORY:'Boy Karma ... who or what is he ? Boy Karma is the Deity who represents the Toy Karma credo of paying it forward in a positive light in all your toy deals and your Holy Grail toy will come to you ! Now you too can have a Boy Karma to watch over your toy collection and just maybe bring you some good Toy Karma!

Designed by Mark Nagata, BOY KARMA is a 4.5 inch tall Soft Vinyl, and was available at US$35 each via MaxToyCo - it has since been listed as "sold out". Item comes bagged and tagged with header-card.

This figurine possess a two point of articulation with a rotating waist and at the neck region. And no, I do not think the arms should be articulated as the charm of the pieces might be altered. Looking like a 'toy-deity' to be worshipped than played with, I like it where it is right now, IMHO.

Boy Karma Articulation Demo Video:

The upper-body hoodie is utilitarian in definition and nothing to rave about, but frankly I am not looking at "depth of realism" in this toy-figure and it works fine for me in that aspect.

The eye-ball / pupil is paint very nicely and as well I appreciated the inner eye-lids of a darker hue (makes a difference in making the figure more "realistic" without "overselling" the character). The acid-wash blue jeans was a rip and the paint-job on the shoe-lace was commendable given it's size.

This is a Made In China toy, and it actually is a pretty darn good quality figurine, I must say!

One of the more distinctive designs from Mark Nagata (for me) is his Boy Karma. It was this figure designed that clued me further into Max Toy Co back when - as admittedly I had not been a steady fan of kaijuness -but seeing this helped me delve deeper into Max Toy Co, and hence getting the chance to appreciate toys of the kaiju- persuasion a little bit more than I would at my pace. Check out my 2007-interview with Mark about paying it forward' with Boy Karma.

Without a doubt, if you can find one, go ahead and score one. This piece stands out amongst the myriad of kaiju-themed monsters and heroes, as well a slice of urban-ness with a mystical twist and no doubt sits on his very own throne in the concrete jungle. No one else comes close to this particular theme. Desirable? YES.
