Custom Merlions by ANTZ
Featured here today is a peek at a pair of customized collectibles from Singaporean urban artist known as ANTZ, featuring Great Twin's Merlion vinyl figures, transformed into sculptural art pieces with social commentary!
Based on a 8-inch and a 2-inch tall vinyl figure-base, the smaller figure tis dubbed: "HUAT HUAT LAI" (the "fortune cat" with a SG$1 coin), while the larger beast is dubbed; "WHITEWASHING"! A commentary on his street murals "roots", I'll let you decipher for yourselves the not-so-subtle nuances of this piece ;p
They are expected to go on a group show touring the Asean regions (TBC) alongside quite a swell line-up of artists - some of whom have been peppering their social media streams with WIPs and finished pieces! Stay tuned as I'll get to them soon :)
