PIKA by Cristina Ravenna x Watari Kappa to debut at Shanghai Toy Show 2019
Making it's debut at Shanghai Toy Show 2019 (April 12-14) is PIKA THE MOUSE, from Spain based artist Cristina Ravenna and produced by Watari & Dreams (www / IG @arttoylovers), and hosted at Booth A75.
Design and sculpted by Cristina herself, "Pika" is "a good friend of Watari Kappa" - a character who is designed by her fiancée Javier Jimenez (Who has his own exclusives for STS2019 too). Stay connected to Pika's own Insta account @pika_themouse, and as well scroll thru to see MORE of Pika, and the story behind the character!
"In Spain, the country she comes from, a bookworm is called “ratón de biblioteca”, which literally translates as “library mouse”. And that’s exactly what she is! Pika spent most of her time studying and reading literature from all around the world. Don Quixote, Hamlet, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, The Lord of the Rings...she just loves a good read! And reading all these books made her wish she could travel to experience the culture from other countries first hand... and perhaps try some sweet foreign desserts.
The pomegranate in the backpack represents the city Pika comes from: Granada, which means pomegranate in Spanish ❤️"
Featured below are images of a one-off Pika painted by @cristina_ravenna herself, named “No School Today”, and MORE one-offs after that, including one customised by Javier Jimenez as well.
