The Finalists for ARTIST OF THE YEAR (Fan Voted Category) in this year's Designer Toy Awards "(recognizes) a single artist, artistic duo, or collective who designed and/or produced a variety of outstanding new releases last year as well as garnering a strong base of followers and a steady demand for new material."
Go make your vote(s) here online, which I feature each individual and their work.
Japanese designer SHOKO NAKAZAWA has had a small catalog of production toys which had garnered a solid fan-base, from her BYRON and RANGRON, to new SEEDLAS Brother - the above featured image of which is also a DTA-Finalist for "Toy of the Year" (Public Voted category).
Stay connected to her toy & art via her Instagram, Twitter and Facebook ... as well check out continued coverage of her work HERE on TOYSREVIL (under the moniker "KORATERS").
American illustrator and toy designer ALEX SOLIS produces his own collectibles, based on his own illustrations, under his own label "Oddworx" (oddworx.com) and retails them himself. Featured above is the image of his "INKTERACTION", also a DTA-Finalist for "Toy of the Year" (Public Voted category), and "Best Resin" (Panel Voted).

French artist MP GAUTHERON is predominantly a "toy-customizer" with an insane attention to details and mind-boggling toy-art. And while there are currently no "production collectibles" from her revealed as yet, she is exceptionally apt with providing tons of videos of her work-in-progress on her youtube channel! She is also a DTA-Finalist in "Breakthrough Artist if the Year" (Panel Voted category).
Stay connected via her Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and mpgautheron.com ... and quite frankly, I feel shameful for not featuring her work as often as I want to on TOYSREVIL :p
Artist/toy designer KASING LUNG's Labubu and Zimomo characters made with Hong Kong's How2Work are popular collectibles in South East Asia, along with crossover character collaborations with Japan's Shoko Nakazawa and T9G! As well he is pretty efficient with social media, which you can stay connected with his Instagram and Facebook ... and of course continuous featured on TOYSREVIL :)
With a slew of DTA-nominations in multiple categories, including RAVAGER (produced by Martian Toys) for "Toy of the Year" (Public Voted), this has been without a doubt a banner year (2018+2019) so far for Juanito Maiquez AKA QUICCS from The Philippines. whose multiple releases continue to sell out in record time, and dedicated fans+collectors (The Bulletpunk Network Facebook group / Instagram) celebrate and commiserate his toy-art.
Having continuingly featured his toy-art and even collaborated on exclusives since 2012, it warms my heart to see him explode in the scene now.
Stay connected to his Instagram and Facebook for continued awesomeness!
HIROTO OHKUBO from Japanese toy-brand INSTINCTOY has gone above and beyond being the a retailer of awesomeness and producer of distinctive character toys, to being recognised also as a toy artist. One point of note (personally from me as a blogger) is his exceptional maintenance and usage of his social media, in promotion of his products - from constant work-in-progress updates, (translated) product information, to it's behind-the-scenes toy-stories = the dedication is admirable and effort incomparable, and a standard to look up to, IMO!
I'd recommend you stay connected to his Instagram and Facebook ... and of course stay connected to continuous coverage HERE on TOYSREVIL!
Besides being a finalist for this category, American illustrator / toy designer ANDREW BELL also has his "LARRY LACTOSE" being a DTA-finalist (Public Voted) for "Toy of the Year". You can stay connected to his social media via Instagram and Twitter ... and you can read up on his coverage on TOYSREVIL by CLICKING HERE. I've had a distinct opportunity to interview him in person on-stage at a local convention back in 2011, which you can view the videos of HERE.
COARSE features the Los Angeles-based duo of Mark Landwehr and Sven Waschk, who has provided the toy-scene with a distinct aesthetic creations parallel to modern art sculptures, IMHO. Stay connected to their Instagram and Facebook, and as well continued coverage HERE #onTOYSREVIL.
Featured above is their CELLS, also a DTA-Finalist for "Toy of the Year" (Public Voted).
As a producer of primarily appropriated resin toys, Peter Gora AKA KILLER BOOTLEGS has his "Phantom Starkiller" ReAction figures with Super7 being a DTA-finalist for Best Plastic/Vinyl (A Panel Voted category). Stay updated via his Insta @killerbootlegs.
