May The 4th Be With You All

According to the www, this was the "origin" of the by-now-infamous phrase we use to celebrate "Star Wars Day"; "On 4 May, 1979, the Conservative party used the saying in an advert placed in the London Evening Standard congratulating former leader Margaret Thatcher on her recent government win. It was the media's first acknowledgement of the phrase, with the advert reading: ""May the Fourth Be with You, Maggie. Congratulations."" (uk.movies.yahoo.com)

I am not too disillusioned to recognise "May The 4th" has been co-opted by the corporates, as much as it has been embraced by fans worldwide, and quite frankly both can co-exist, with the ultimate "choice" in the hands and clicks of consumers to partake, engage and own, in one way or another. I appreciate that "Star Wars" is an umbrella that covers both what we like and dislike, and enough for us - at least for me personally - to continue loving "Star Wars", IMHO.

And while I've yet to devour all the television/streaming shows seen in the video, except for "The Mandalorian", "Andor" and "Ahsoka" are on my watchlist, while I've realized I have zero desire to watch "Obi-Wan" - because essentially that's how I can engage with SW these days, as I no longer am able to afford to "buy" any merch or memorabilia, or anything economically accessible, as far as I am concerned!
