So Say We All! My Collection of Battlestar Galactica Collectibles

I had thought of CYLONS this morning, which very soon spiralled into remembering my toy-collection of, which led to everything BattleStar Galactica, and here we are! Henceforth THIS blog-feature'll be a "updated" depository of images (and maybe "video") of all-things BSG-collectibles in my humble collection! ... Well, I did proclaim "I *HEART* CYLONS" back in 2005)...

It all started with the sole image (above) I remembered of my 1/6th-scaled Cylons (2 X Silver + 1 X Gold) and wondering if the chrome finish had faded or eroded (NO, I don't know where they are being buried in), which led to images I snapped of Captain Apollo alongside them, but realising I never reviewed them (*gasp*), beyond the images shared below...!

I bought the Pop! Television: Battlestar Galactica"-set just for the Cylon.

And while I managed to snag the "Retro Battlestar Galactica 35th Anniversary" 1:64 scaled Die Cast CYLON RAIDER from Hot Wheels (above), the COLONIAL VIPER continues to escape thy grasp....! Or I could just make my own out of toilet-paper cores... :p

PENDING TOYS COLLECTION

There are two generations of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: The 1978 television series, and the 2004 TV series.

My memories of the 1978 series translates to the primary characters and my adoration of the classic "Cylons" character design(s)!

The 2004 series remains somewhat vivid in my memories, and was what kickstarted my love for BSG, it's tweaked lore, the tweaked characters ... but not the visually "upgraded" Cylons, which frankly lost all my appeal for ~ LOL

Ultimately I am more of a BSG-fan than I of "Star Wars" (just putting this out there :p). The blog-feature title of "So Say We All" was uttered in the 2004 series.

SYNOPSIS (2004 Series): "Battlestar Galactica" is set in a distant star system, where a civilization of humans lives on a group of planets known as the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. In the past, the Colonies had been at war with an android race of their own creation, known as the Cylons. With the unwitting help of a human scientist named Gaius Baltar (Callis), the Cylons launch a sudden sneak attack on the Colonies, laying waste to the planets and devastating their populations. Out of a population of several billion, there are about 50,000 human survivors; most were aboard civilian space ships that were not near the initial attacks.

Of all the Colonial Fleet, the Battlestar Galactica (an older ship about to be decommissioned and turned into a museum) appears to be the only military capital ship that survived the attack. Under the leadership of Colonial Fleet officer Commander William "Bill" Adama (Olmos) and President Laura Roslin (McDonnell), the Galactica and its crew take up the task of leading the small fleet of refugee survivors into space in search of a fabled thirteenth colony known as Earth.

WHAT-IS: Battlestar Galactica is an American military science fiction television series, and part of the Battlestar Galactica franchise. The show was developed by Ronald D. Moore and executive produced by Moore and David Eick as a re-imagining of the 1978 Battlestar Galactica television series created by Glen A. Larson. (Info via)
