medicom x marvel comics 1/6 figures @ nytf
in addition to the Spiderman 3 movie figures [featured here just] - Medicom Toy does Marvel Comics with their serious-series of 1/6th action figures under the Real Action Heroes (RAH) line, as distributed by SideShowToys and seen in their display-arena during the New York Toys Fair [all shown toy-images via Figures.com]

surprisingly one of the "better" looking adaption of the comic-heroes in this selection is
The Punisher!
sporting what i reckon would be a Mike Zeck-inspired design [comic image via]
as much as fans'll expect Frank Castle to be strapped-to-da-hilt with firepower (ala Marvel Studio's version) - i don't think this might happen for this particular figure, innit? well, one could always bash him with weapons, innit? ... lurvin' the spit-curl and grimace tho = *schweet-sculpt*
added 15.02.07: pre-order images and feature on Punisher here :)
whereas the obvious Bart Sears-art/design inspired Blade seems positively "bland" in comparison, IMHO
sure the headsculpt's decent and faithful enough to the art, but the clothes are ho-hum and maybe it'll be down to his vampire-killing accessories that'll tip the purchasing-choice in his avour, no? (and of coz i can't really expect him to be shirt-less like the comic, innit?) *heh*

compared to Marvel Studio's earlier Blade and Medicom's DVD-Edition, this figure might be a tad "redundant", if not repetitive, innit? ... no offense to Blade-fans all over, yeh? :p
added 15.02.07: pre-order images and feature on Blade here :)
and while im a huge fan (whenever his work is on time, i guess) of Jim Lee's art, this adaptation of his re-design of Magneto, the mutant Master of Magnetism (for X-Men #1) is positively comedic, IMHO:
dunno about you guys, but he's looking pretty much like a Mego-figure with metallic-bits, dunnit? (*snicker*) ... but then again, with a possible upcoming feature film in the works, dude might get lucky, eh?
added 15.02.07: pre-order images and feature on Magneto here :)
finally we have the comicbook-crossover with "possible" tag:
"What If The Punisher Was Possessed by The Venom Symbiote?"
heck, from these show-floor images, dude's packing more heat than Castle (shown above)! LOL ... tis a "strange" choice of a figure to be released, fer shure ... capitalising on the Venom-craze to come, ala Spiderman 3? who am i to ponder such 1/6th-musings, innit?
*heh* well, at least someone's having a jolly good laugh about alla these, innit? :p
added 15.02.07: pre-order images and feature on the Venom-Punisher here :)

just when i waswhining commenting on the "lack" of 1/6th-superhero figures on the market, i had literally forgotten (:p) about Medicom Toy's varied selection of spandex-heroes, predominantly from Marvel Comics (whereas all DC characters are undertaken by DC Direct / Deluxe) - the transparent major difference being price-points and quality, if not characters ~ but at least we/i appreciate the "choices", eh? ... *hyuks*
