TRE: my apologies for the out-burst, Tony (heh) ... maybe you could describe your KajiCube's character for us? maybe that would help us understand his "motives" ... let's start with his genesis, shall we?
NAKANARI: Dokuro is like, the no-name guy, the silent, mysterious one. Underneath the skull mask could be anything. Dokuro was also the first concept KajiCube design. The initial idea was to make a base shape that would be easy to stylize.
TRE: why the name Dokuro?
NAKANARI: Dokuro is the Japanese word for "skull", which is his most prominent feature.
TRE: how did KajiCubes come about? and why plush?
NAKANARI: I've been wanting to do a crazy plush design for a long time, so I asked our plush-artist, Spider, to help me develop the preliminary idea. Everyone liked it, and we decided to do a little series of crazy little monsters. We started testing a lot of different designs and materials and had a lot of good results. The best part is that nobody's really tried some of the things that we've done with these before. The KajiCubes are a perfect combination of plastic and plush.
And because we feel that plush as a medium has a lot of great potential, and people really seem to respond to it.
TRE: are there any future plans for KajiCubes?
NAKANARI: Yes. If people really like them, then we want to do more waves in the future, either some new colorways or even some new designs.
TRE: you mean more troublemakers to come??? ... eeerrr... i mean; looking forward to them, Tony! describe your role in Agi-Agi
NAKANARI: Lately, I think director; I've been doing lots of concept and design-work, and I'm usually the one putting together events and talking to people outside the group.
TRE: cheers for your time and coming down to the Plush-Police-Station, Tony - and in closing, please share with us about yourself and what you do.
TONY SHIAU / NAKANARI: I'm originally from South Taiwan. In 2004, I worked with B.B. Birdy to create the Funny Club Show tour. Recently, I've begun designing several new toy lines, which will be ready to share with everyone very soon. I always love working with my team; we always have such a good time whenever we're working on a project together. Our goal right now is to get some of these great product designs that our new company has been developing produced and available to everyone.
