i've recently developed this weird fascination interest for Speed Racer movie-toys [tagged] with the wonderment of how commercialized the line/s are going to get, and of the "technologies" of making a toy now, in this "advanced" day and age ... personal warped-curiosity aside, here's a look at Mattel's opening salvo in the merchandizing endeavor [blogged] with the Speed Racer Battle Morph Mach5 (which effin befuddlkes me becoz it clearly states "6" down the side LOL)

It comes with a 5” scaled Speed figure and the ultimate cool weaponry. Speed jumps into his car, snaps on his protective canopy and when he revs the engine, the gears roar and the jet rocket flares. The Mach 5 has its signature “jump-jacks” to pop up on two wheels, then with a push of a side button, the car shoots out a rapid succession of saw blades! Once the bad guy’s been defeated, kids can push the car back down and continue on with the race! [via Toynewsi.com]
