ANIMATION: Little Joe in "Airmail Error"
- Little Joe is Ningyoushi's store-mascot and was created by Antony Sewell, with animation by Lippy. the promo is long over by now tho, but the animation's real swell :)
ANIMATION: The Zombies That Ate The World
In Los Angeles. 2064, the world has changed. The dead are rising from their graves. Corpses walk upon the earth. Unable to deal with the increasing numbers of the living-dead, the government decrees that the living must dwell with the dead. Peacefully. Society decrees that the word 'zombie' is not politically correct, people call them 'life impaired.' They're like the living: some of them are winners, some of them are losers.
read about the origins of the storyon Muttpop's "former" blog :)ANIMATION-ISH: Robots Can't Act does Goodfellas
- truly creepy-cool (so who's worried robots will take over real-life actors? LOL) original movie sequence here (NSFW - coarse language) ... also peep Robots Can't Act: Pulp Fiction and for a much sweeter+crispier version of Goodfellas, click here
MUSIC VIDEO: classic Royksopp with "Poor Leno" (circa 2001)
- did anyone make a figure out of Leno? ... damn, tis sometimes hard to enjoy a media performance or presentation without wondering if it'll make a good toy or not URGH! LOL
MUSIC VIDEO: Quasimoto's "Come on Feet"
BEHIND-THE-SCENES/PUPPETRY: on the set of Quaismoto's "Come On Feet" music video
BEHIND-THE-SCENES: The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (*audio is loud*)
- behind-the-scenes with filmmakers of the third installment of The Mummy series - hey, i actually liked both The Mummy and Mummy Returns - t'was like a bridge between Indiana Jones, but with hotter babes (eg: Rachel Weisz)
FILM-ISH: test clip for *Where The Wild Things Are*
- and apparently this is NOT the official/actual silver-screen adaptation of the Maurice Sendak picturebook/story as directed by Spike Jonze ... and yes, Robots Are Best! bwahahahahahaha cry beastie CRY! muahahahaha ... as you can plainly see, my life experience with the story is via McFarlene's toys years back (which i didn't even buy for myself). heh. remind me loads of the Muppets tho, now those i loved to bleedin' tears.
FILM: Spiderwick Chronicles
- as disfranchised as i am with quasi-fantasy flicks adapted from kiddie's books (Potter is so last millennium now), i still hope for a good one now and again (and i did not watch Narnai, but unfortunately did Golden broken Compass) ... and can only but hope one fine day someone could and would do a Faerie-movie based on Neil Gaimen's Sandman-lore ... *le-sigh*
FILM: Get Smart
frankly, i dislike Steve Carell quite a fair bit, most times becoz of The Office. and Anne Hathaway is the skinny babe in Devil Wears Prada, and will always be, to me ... but i like The Rock and the trailer promises laughter. withered are the times of laughing mindlessly at Mr.Bean, and Carey is but all forgotten ... will this remake of a old television series give me the guffaws? well, the flying-phone and dropping beads made me LOL, so that's a good start :)
... i just want to be entertained.
FILM: Be Kind Rewind
Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who attempts to sabotage a power plant that he believes is melting his brain. But when his plan goes awry, the magnetic field that he creates accidentally erases all of the videotapes in a local video store where his best friend Mike (Mos Def) works. Fearing that the mishap will cost Mike his job, the two friends team up to keep the store's only loyal customer, a little old lady with a tenuous grasp on reality (Mia Farrow) from realizing what has happened by recreating and re-filming every movie that she decides to rent ... Jerry and Mike become the biggest stars in their neighborhood by starring in some of the biggest movies ever made, but soon get into trouble when it turns out their 20-minute duplicate films violate copyright law. [wiki]
- frankly, i dislike Jack Black (some of the time), as long as he doesn't loose it too much, im good ... plus the movie references in the trailer is up my timeline (*cough*) - plus tis directed by Michel Gondry, so it would have to rawk, IMHO :) - personally, this is like a cheery finger-up to the DIY/Youtubed-generation, altho you can agreee tis a 'homage' instead ... heh.LOL: Will Ferrel hawks Old Spice (Semi-Pro promo)
WTF: naughty white power ranger
POPCULTURE/WTF: remember the Screaming hand? let this help start off your new work week :)
