It Came From Skullbrain: Imagery of Japanese Toys @ Super7 (April 18)
UPDATED 19.04.09: Event snaps courtesy of Jeff Tofanelli (aka zincsaucier442 on Skullbrain & Kidrobot forum) along with his impressions of the show - posted HERE! (Cheers for the pics & words, Jeff!)
"Customization and photography of collectible vinyl figures hase become a large part of the boutique vinyl toy world. Super7 is pleased to announce an art show featuring the work of a gaggle of toy customizers and photographers who are part of the Skullbrain.org community. 'It Came From Skullbrain' focuses primarily on the world of customizing Japanese vinyl Kaiju toys, no platforms." [via]
And a vibrant community it is, IMHO. (iLurk). How wonderous is it that a community gets together to celebrate and showcase their passions? The work seen and featured on TRE thus far has been nothing short of amazing (and not just because I posted about them, innit). And as of this time of post, it should be the early morning of the Saturday April 18th show-launch at 7pm (and I await with baited breathe for kaiju-lurvin' shutterbugs to start a'snappin'!). Meanwhile CLICK THRU to see a preview of the customs destined for the show on TRE :)

JEFF-SAYS: "1st impression of the show was "Wow!" There were so many beautiful customs and pictures. Everyone that participated has extreme talent and I only wish I could customize toys as some of these guys. Seriously, everything was eye candy; simply amazing! Super 7 put on a fabulous show and everyone that attended was super cool. Seeing the pieces in pictures is one thing but seeing them in person puts a totally different perspective to them. Extremely detailed! I only wish I could had walked away with every piece. LOL! The photos for the "Imagery of Japanese Toys" were also fabulous. There's definitely some talent behind the lens!"
