Moon Cat Sails To Singapore (A Visual Review)
Moscow-based Sergey Safonov's MOON CAT [tagged] has sailed to Singapore! CLICK THRU to peep my humble de-boxing, as well as have a closer-peep at one of the characters from Sergey's "Moon Wanders" series, with prototyping and development by Crazy Label. Note that this is a prototype and not actual product, it will be more "visual journey" than "product review" ~ but hell, tis a real sweet figure, and should be made available to fans worldwide, IMHO!
THE BOX: Brown cardboard carton with hand-drawings on it = Awesome! And the sheer pleasure and surprise of receiving a package from Russia, really made my Thursday!
DE-BOXING: A sweet selection of stickers within = *Cool*

MOON CAT: The figure-form is quite simply adorable, with sleek curves and nubby feets. Moon Cat can stand alone but itself without any fear of toppling, even with a big-tail, and "sits" within his boat via slotting the groove in Moon Cat's bottom to the peg inside the boat. Carved-in details include the eyes and fur accents, as well as a cute belly-button area, as seen in slideshow below, of Moon Cat floating above a "bubble sea" :)
they float with the moon light and existing only at the night part of the world.

TRE-IMPRESSIONS: In a realm filled with candy-pop colored character figures and forms, with genres ranging from zen-designer, to urban-style, to the extreme angsty characters, Moon Cat (and Moon Fox) stand out from the rest, with it's sheer subtle silence and serenity not often seen in toys, IMHO. And would be a welcomed and cherished figure if it makes it into toy-shelves worldwide, and unto collector's displays. Here's wishing the Moon Wanders having the opportunity to sail into everyone's homes :)
