CLIFFTRON1986's Top Toys of 2025
Cliff Uchida joins us yet again for the annual TOP TEN TOYS / TOP TOYS of the past year lists on TOYSREVIL! Besides listing his favourites (*Most of whom had been reviewed on @clifftron1986), he as well shares with us his toy-collecting journey...! ONWARDS!
TOP TOY OF 2025 - #10: Bandai SMP kit Action Kamen model kit
CLIFFTRON1986: It's a really cool looking Action Kamen model kit that's fairly easy to build. Captures the character's likeness pretty accurately.

TOP TOY OF 2025 - #9: Spy x Family Anya's Daily Life blindbox figure from Pop Mart
CLIFFTRON1986: Yet another cute set of Anya Forger blind box figures from Pop Mart featuring Anya Forger in some different outfits and also her classmates Becky and Damian.

TOP TOY OF 2025 - #8: Figure Rise Standard Machu
CLIFFTRON1986: Despite not having a ton of accessories compared to other model kits in the Figure Rise Standard line, it was still a fun kit to build. It was pretty fun to take pictures of it too.

TOP TOY OF 2025 - #7: 30 Minutes Sister Rydira
CLIFFTRON1986: It's a sportier, cooler looking girl model kit in the 30 Minutes Sisters line. I hope the 30 Minutes Sisters line continues having more characters with this similar design.

TOP TOY OF 2025 - #6: Peach Riot Rush Hour blind box figures from Pop Mart
CLIFFTRON1986: Another great looking set of blind box figures from Pop Mart featuring this fictitious band. Very detailed with an overall great looking design and a fun design concept for all of the figures.
TOP TOY OF 2025 - #5: Hatsune Miku x Gundam Zaku 2 and Zgok gashapon figures
CLIFFTRON1986: You wouldn't think something like Hatsune Miku and Gundam would mix but here we are, haha. It's such a cute reimagining of the famous vocaloid and the iconic Zeon mobile suits mashed together.
TOP TOY OF 2025 - #4: 30 Minutes Preference Kita Ikuyo
CLIFFTRON1986: It's a really nice looking kit in the newly established 30 Minutes Preference model kit line. She's got lots of different accessories you can use along with a wide range of different expressions you can use with the included blank face plates.

TOP TOY OF 2025 - #3: Doomguy figure from Youtooz
CLIFFTRON1986: It's always nice to see more figures of the Classic version of Doomguy. Even in this stylized chibi mode, it still looks really bad ass.

TOP TOY OF 2025 - #2: Sitting Frieren figure from Sega Plaza
CLIFFTRON1986: I love collecting the silly looking Frieren figures instead of the typically pretty and cute Frieren figures. This facial expression always cracks me up.
TOP TOY OF 2025 - #1: Shell Shock Turtle Tank from coolcattoyco
CLIFFTRON1986: Such a cool unique looking design that is very well detailed. Feels like something you'd see in the Metal Slug series.

TOYSREVIL: How have your collecting habits or focus changed, since you first begun? How did you begin?
CLIFFTRON1986: I've always loved collecting and playing with toys since I was very young, especially anime and video game related toys. I loved collecting and building Legos too (although I sadly haven't been keeping up with that stuff in a long time). Anything robot related (specifically Z-Bots from the 1990's) or military-themed like GI Joes were my go-to toys as well. I eventually got into the various Kidrobot blind boxes during the early 2010s, mostly from The Simpsons or a variety of different Nicktoons themed Kidrobot blind box figures.

TOP TEN TOYS OF 2020

#TopTenToysof2018
CLIFFTRON1986: When I briefly lived in Japan back in 2015, I would collect a variety of different gashapon toys. Lots of different anime and video game themed gashapon figures, lots of silly animal ones too. I eventually started looking into a variety of different indie artists and toy designers starting around 2016-2017, which was also around the time I had first heard about DesignerCon, and then during subsequent trips to DesignerCon in 2018 and 2019 up until my last trip to DesignerCon back in 2022. These days, however, I don't really follow a ton of artists. The only ones I still follow consistently are @aragon_49s, @baketanblog, and Libby Frame (creator of Peach Riot).
