Private Collection: KAWS - Seen @ Culture Cartel 2018
And while I'd previously Instagrammed snaps (above slideshow) I'd taken at Culture Cartel 2018 for the KAWS COLLECTION display, this'll be the first time seeing this on the TOYSREVIL-blog, along with new images (by Angeline Kang), for archival and your collective gawking pleasures, and you are welcomed :)
Seen on display was essentially a retrospective collection of KAWS' released collectibles through the years - from production pieces made with 360 Toy Group (Those CHUMPS really got my attention lol), to OriginalFake and 1000% BE@RBRICKs from Medicom Toy, some of whom really triggered toy-memories cascading thru my mindscape (#neverboughtregrets are truly bitter :p), to the Star Wars-themed OriginalFake pieces taunting me LOL
Only collectible "missing" that might have left folks' mouths agawk, would have been a 4-feet tall Companion - but OMG I don't think anyone would have been able to process that awesomeness without going insane LOL :p (One did did make it to SG tho...) ... but of course I am just being "difficult", and kudos to Mr Edward Ng for sharing his collection with the public!
I remembered Mr Jeremy Tan (Convention Director of Culture Cartel) mention the "combined price" of the collection to the press (during our "Media Tour" on Nov 30), where I forget the said price, but instead connected with the reality that that was what anyone outside of the "toy-collecting-scene" had somewhat always asked me; "What is your most expensive toy you own?" (whenever I mention I collect "adult designer toys" and blog about :p).
People want to "connect", or at least provide a connection between readers - and what better way that "money" - the ultimate universal
