Street Art @ Culture Cartel 2018

The inaugural Culture Cartel 2018 lists "street art" as one of its core focus of the event, and one of the visually prominent showcase at the past weekend show, was it's wall murals - as painted on by a select group of artists from Asia - done on (what felt like) 2.4m tall x 3.6m wide wooden panels (approximation on my part), the result of which are featured here today in this blog-feature.

The murals were apparently available for purchase too, so you might want to check in with @culturecartelcon for (possible) availability.

And while some are repeat viewings of works from individual blogposts featuring Mightyellow and Sam Lo (SG), Rukkit & Beerpitch (TH) ... seen on site were works from the following folks (*Whom I've only included their Instagram-handle for your clicking pleasures).

@clog_two / #onTOYSREVIL (Singapore)

NESTWO | NESYR @_nestwo (Malaysia)

@rukkit & @beerpitch (Thailand)

@cloakwork (Malaysia)

@dzarull_jeffry

@katun_ (Malaysia)

@stereoflow_id (Indonesia)

@skl0_ (SG)

@tuyuloveme

@yell0w (SG)

@_theyok & @_sheryo

@erikartoon (SG)

I would imagine these were painted on-site, and I would gladly love to have the opportunity to actually witness the art being executed, actually, as I'd felt that was as integral to the formation and result of the mural art, rather than just a "finished piece" without a possible context of creation. Having in the past watched art being created in this scale, and for this event seeing Olderplus' creation (and in essence MUKLAY's), it would've really been a thrill to actually witness art being created in front of my own eyes - logistics and aerosol sprays notwithstanding lah hahahaha... give everyone spray-masks lor! Would've been a real sight indeed LOL

Cheers,
