#TOYSfor2019: FILMART MR. VAMPIRE Figurine Combo Set from PLAY x Unbox Industries
Well this is an interesting release scheduled to drop January 2019 - having first teased it during Toy Soul, it is currently up for pre-orders online here! The figure set in question is "FILMART Mr. Vampire Figurine Combo Set" - featuring a "Master Kau" Taoist priest, and a "Chinese jiangshi" dressed in Qing Dynasty robes - named "Vampire Yam" - which makes this released based on the first "Mr Vampire" film released in 1985 - of which spawned 4 sequels!
Made by PLAY and Unbox Industries with Fortune Star, they retail for HK$320.00 (US$41 / SG$56) and comes with "Gold Coin Sword" and a "Hierogram" (What we know as the yellow talisman with red text - used to stop a Vampire in its tracks by applying to its forehead, pop course with the necessary chants lol). Featured below are dioramic displays of the two figures (*which reminded me of Titan Merchandize's figure designs) seen both at Toy Soul, and for the press conference prior to the event held over the past weekend. And NO, I seriously doubt anyone will release a Chinese-styled coffin accessory, because that is just plain BAD LUCK, people!

This is an interesting addition and direction to the larger figure releases in the last year, based off Shaw Brother's film catalog - since rebranded here as "Hong Kong Classic Movies" - and focusing on a smaller, perhaps more accessible format of collectibles (*These are sized 4 inches tall), and looks like it'll be one direction for other licensed film characters too!
Updates when I have them, meanwhile you can stay connected to their Instagram at @playtoyhongkong for updates!
