Upcoming New Toys on TOYSREVIL (March/13/2011)

Erick Scarecrow and the folks at ESC Toy has been pretty prolific of late, with two sneaks revealed this week (along with the release of their Crow Crow Bear) featuring Up CHUCK and Little Red Secret Release. As well Shawnimals presents Ninja Dog plush for C2E2, and Toy2R teases the 7-inch Transparent Qee Bear.

Series One of Mini Tuttz will be 25 piece strong and come blindboxed, with 5 chases to look out for, along with a golden ticket. We've seen the regular 6" Tuttz so far, now this little tyke takes over the availability-reins! Drop date is unrevealed for now tho, but they look hella good! And what about those larger scaled 8" Tuttz sculpts? Argonaut Resins bringing on the indie designer-toy-heat in 2011.

Spotted from TaskOne's tweet is this clear resin figure of a chibi-character with a straw-hat, possibly for the upcoming Big Trouble in Little Chinatown group art show, curated by Jay222! Would this see a singular series of releases? Or a platform figure for the group to customize on? We will see soon!

From Hauke Scheer of Deep Fried Figures comes U.R.I.-NAL 9000 in multiple-colored PVC! Shown here are the prototype samples in white, yellow, blue, green and pink, as well articulated at the limbs (previous released was in resin). All colors will be limited to 250 pieces each while the White is tagged initially at 1,000 units and will be an ongoing run.

Spotted on FB are these Anatomical Gummi Bear by 4D-puzzle makers Fame Master Toys ~ on display at their booth in the Hong Kong Toy Fair. And the designer happens to be sculptor-of-sketons Jason Freeny, what a perfect fit, no? Based on Jason's illustration seen in 2008, no exact release dates nor product details as yet for this 8 inch figure tho. Also shown here are initial promo images found on Jason's blogspot.

With a name like "Cannibal Fuckface", the character can either be an insane comicbook creation, or a off-the-regular-beat vinyl art toy. This coming Summer, both become one and the same, when Monster Worship (makers of Greasebat) teams up with Johnny Ryan to unleash "soft vinyl violence" in the form of, you guessed it: CANNIBAL FUCKFACE!

Featuring a sculpt from Monster5, Johnny's previous toy-release were from his guys from Angry Youth Comix (also sculpted by Monster5) shown on MW is the silhouetted tease of the figure, while the"the anti-hero" is also shown here on the cover of his Fantagraphics graphic novel series "Prison Pit"., complete with his wrestler-gear and killer "caterpillar" left-hook!

Spotted on KRonikle is the existence of a Dunny figure inspired by an earlier Squink custom, titled "Ken the Mysterious Tigrrr". Looks like "Ken" is on production mode now with this sneak-in! Congrats!

As with the Squink-reveal, an image of a possible upcoming Dunny-production lineup was also spotted on Chakal's FB ~ which shows Squink's Dunny alongside DrilOne, Travis Lampe and 64Colors (finally!) and maybe even a Betso's ~ which seems a testament to their respective iconic character designs, versus the rest I am unable to identify (sorry folks). Apparently the image has been around since February, so I am unsure if this is still legit ;p
HOT TOYS states: “Be water, my friend”. There is no wonder that Bruce Lee is the forever icon of ours! Many of us may have seen him in front of the camera, but how about the time when he was behind-the-scenes? Now we are happy to show to our and his fans his smiley face which captures his happiness and truly retrospects to his 70s in his classic and iconic style! And we hope to bring you with his spirit and philosophy via the soul of his collectible figures as if he were still alive.

And the smiling-face sculpt above reminds me immediately of Enterbay's version I posted a while back. And while I leave the "likeness" comparisons to you folks, I am instead getting a tad tired of seeing these parallels. I am not interested in seeing any rivalries ("friendly" or decidedly otherwise) - just stick to making awesome works that blow collectors and folks away and open their wallets to, and leave any sense of childishness back in the 90s. No, you will not get a "please" from me.

WWRp SQUARES from ThreeA Toys in a row. Released in 2009 in 1/6th-scale blindboxed, the WWR Squares measured 4 inches tall, and came in over 10 colorways (posted below is a lil slideshow video I made way back when) and has since seen 1/1-scaled fiberglass Squares and even papercraft Squares made the market. Note that "WWRp" means "World War Robot Portable", with it's figures in 1/12th-scale, making these WWRp Squares around 2 inch tall?
