A Singapore Comic Con Update

Reed Exhibitions Singapore (RX Singapore) has announced that they have entered into a licensing agreement with "Generation Experience Pte Ltd", allowing it to organise the Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) events. Read the full press release here, or the IG-embed seen below.

Notice the SGCC event logo (up top) has since seen a new logo-inclusion of @Generatexp. And as of this blog-post, I'd also noticed that SGComicCon Facebook-account is stated to be now run by "Generation Experience Pte Ltd".

With the latest announcement, will we be getting a "SGCC 2021" this year? No firm dates nor announcement on that front, so we'll just have to await the official word. Stay connected to SGCC's socials (Instagram / Facebook / Twitter) for further updates.

The earliest iteration of this annual event started in 2008 with "Singapore Toy & Comics Convention", and continued from 2009 with a name change to "Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention" (*And where TOYSREVIL helmed my own booth), with both 2008 and 2009 events were run by Play Imaginative, until it was acquired by Reed Exhibitions from 2010, right up to 2018, where the following year, "Singapore Comic Con" was newly minted in 2019, with the event cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

And while I choose to be naive about the "business deal(ings)", ultimately I choose to instead be keen about the event itself (color me "selfish") - which has since become a staple part of our geek-lives for the past decade+ - and how it will continue to entertain and cater to our respective fandoms :)

Would love to be able to booth again tho ... LOL
