Edward Low's TOP TOYS OF 2025
EDWARD LOW AKA DRAWDELOW: Thank you Andy for inviting me to be part of the Top 10 Toys of the year once again.
First of all, glad to meet you again and have a quick chat during last year's Pop Toy Show.
It is always a pleasant experience to meet up with familiar faces that I know right at the beginning of my toy journey in Singapore. Can’t believe that this is my 9th year participating in this yearly affair!
EDWARD LOW: After travelling around Asia for toy conventions for a few years straight, 2025 is the year that I have decided to put a pause on it and focus on building my own brand locally in Malaysia. Still managed to attend Designer Toy Tainan in January and Jakarta Toy Fair in February. In 2025, other than continuing with the My Artist Story magazine with few friends, me and Michael Chuah also started doing My Artist Story podcast where we get to have a long chat with fellow artist friends.

Anyway, here are my Top 10 Toys in 2025.
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #10: Maya Mango Kaoju by Guibs (@guibs.ph)
EDWARD LOW: Me and Guibs just clicked when we met because of what we are doing with our toy community. Of course he did so much more with Designer and Art Toys PH and NEUE Design Store. His energy is also way higher than mine. We spent a few days in Jakarta too after the toy fair and I am glad that he took part in Super Toy Fest 2025 and we managed to record an episode of a podcast with him to talk about his journey and the scene in the Philippines. Receiving this Maya Mango Kaoju from Guibs as a gift.
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #9: Candy Dragon by Boda (@boda_1129)
EDWARD LOW: Got this during Super Toy Fest from Omo Gallery’s booth. They carry works by various artists to attend events and this Candy Dragon caught my eyes. Mainly because it is a dragon and also has a derpy look.
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #8: Normal Guy by Tahilalat (@tahilalats)
EDWARD LOW: Managed to grab this during Jakarta Toy Fair and thought of having the creator, Palik to sign on it during the convention. Unfortunately I didn't manage to meet him at that time. Good thing is he is one of the invited guests for Comic Art Festival KL a few months later where I am boothing. Finally managed to meet him and have it autographed, even learn a trick or two on how he plans out his comics during the sharing session.
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #7: A-Lei Gashapon by A-Lei (@mini061765)
EDWARD LOW: I have been following A-Lei for a few years now and always admire his creatures' sculptures. Usually they are one-off and way too pricey for me, so I can only admire them through photos. Then he announced releasing the gacha series in 2024. At first I thought it would be available everywhere when we visited Taipei for the Toy Festival in October but it turned out only a cafe has the gacha machine and it is out of the city area. So I made it my mission to get it in January after travelling back from Tainan with my few hours stopover in Taipei before my flight. Unfortunately I did not manage to get the whole set by missing 1 character and 1 secret. Overall I'm still very happy with the “adventure” I had.
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #6: Jakarta Reepa by Milo Sanluis (@milo.sanluis)
EDWARD LOW: Another artist I got to know since the early My Toy Hoard years through social media when he shared his work, DeathSpray. Finally met him in person at the 2024 ToyCon PH and again in Jakarta Toy Fair 2025. Before we parted ways, he gave this to me. Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve this — receiving so much love from the toy friends I’ve made over the years.
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #5: Ryan Malayan Tapir by Ryan Animal ()
EDWARD LOW: I have been a fan of Tony’s Ryan Animal and of course how funny he is with his other creations beside toys. He was one of the designers for Hong Kong Art Toy Story, Kuala Lumpur last November where he launched a Malaysia exclusive Ryan Malayan Tapir for this event. Of course I have to get it.
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #4: Gummy by Jimmy Gummy (@jmgm_here)
EDWARD LOW: Jimmy Gummy is one of the latest additions to Malaysia's toy designers. After hearing the background story of these two characters from Adrian the creator, I can’t wait to see what is next for them. Jimmy and Gummy often appear in heart warming short animations. Anyway, in one event where both of us are exhibitors, we decided to do a trade with our own toy and that is how I got this Gummy!
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #3: Melamoon: Moonfolk version - Bluemoon by Sumadinata (@sumadinata)
EDWARD LOW: Sumadinata probably is among the first few Indonesian designers that I admire since my early years as collector. His Edmoon already caught my attention since then but never got a chance to own any of them. Finally my chance is here during the Jakarta Toy Fair where I finally got to meet Sumadinata in person after all these years and own one of his creations at last!
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #2: Lucky and Raging Dragon Dudu customised by WYNC World (@wync.world)
EDWARD LOW: I have known Vincent and Winnie for a few years now and we got closer when we were booth buddies in Shenzhen the year before. In a random conversation some time last year, they agreed to customize my Dudu. It was such an honour for me but we did not set a time line for this especially knowing their schedule is packed. Then we made a trip to Singapore to visit the Pop Toy Show and managed to visit their studio where they showed me they are almost done! A few weeks later, they brought them over during their KL trip. We also managed to record 2 episodes of a podcast with them! While the Lucky Dragon Dudu and a few Lucky Dudus painted by Winnie are already sold, Raging Dragon Dudu is for my personal collection and I will cherish this forever!
TOP TEN TOYS OF 2025 - #1: 100% Durian Man Mega Space Molly by Lala Company & Pop Mart (@la_la_company)
EDWARD LOW: When Lala Company posted his version of Mega Space Molly on 1st of April, most of us thought it was a joke. Soon we found out it was official and we got to see the physical piece at Pop Mart the following month. Everyone in the community is so proud of this achievement by Lala Company.
At that time, some of us also wished that there would be a smaller version because 400% is beyond our budget. A few months down the road Pop Mart announced the new 100% Mega Space Molly blindbox series and Durian Man is one of the designs.
I guess that is the most sought after design for every Malaysian who knows Lala Company. Glad that I managed to own this historical piece although I wish to have the 400% version. We did talk about this project during our podcast episode with Radio, the creator of Lala Company.

TOYSREVIL: How have your collecting habits or focus changed, since you first begun?
EDWARD LOW: So those are my Top 10 toys for 2025. I guess in recent years my toy collecting habit has changed drastically as compared to when I first started. As mentioned previously, I will focus more on developing and growing my own brand hence buying toys is no longer my priority.
After cutting down travelling overseas for toy conventions, I will have less temptation to buy toys. I don’t buy online anymore either. To be honest, I myself am very curious what will be my Top 10 toys for 2026. Hopefully by this time next year, I will have at least 10 new toys in my collection.
